This creation research is about how emotion can affect you and how your body responds to these emotions. It explores how a person can become immersed in the emotions of another through empathy and how different people can have different feelings and responses in similar situations. This creation will explore how emotions can be translated into dance and how dance can be used to transfer emotions to others; to use the bodies and the movements of the dancers to convey emotions to the audience.

About Menghan Lou
NDT 1 dancer Menghan Lou (ChongQing China, 1983) joined NDT 2 in 2007 and was promoted to NDT 1 in 2009.  In 2014 he created work for the programme Up & Coming Choreographers by NDT and Korzo.  Lou was educated at the Hochschüle für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Frankfurt, Huangzhou Art School of China (1995 – 2000), and Shanghai Drama College – Institute of the Art of Performing (2000 – 2002).  Before joining NDT he danced with Guangdong Modern Dance Company in China.
