Place/Make is a circus performance and film installation centered on the question: how do we find space for ourselves?
The house is seen as a microcosm of the city and the city as a collection of the small and larger actions of its inhabitants.
Building a home of bricks through handstands and acrobatics, the performer works to discover: How does the human negotiate its habitat?
Our physical research centers on the question: How can the body communicate the agility necessary to adapt (to) one’s surroundings? By working with the interaction between the body and the basic building material of bricks, we look for opportunities to apply the body’s capacities to problematize the relationship between human and surroundings.
